Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BIM Engineer to join our Steel Detailing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing accurate 3D models, preparing fabrication drawings, and coordinating structural steel components using Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
The role requires strong technical expertise in structural steel detailing, coordination with project stakeholders, and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage 3D BIM models for structural steel projects.
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, GA drawings, and erection drawings.
- Perform clash detection and coordination with structural, architectural, and MEP teams.
- Extract accurate material take-offs (MTO) and bill of materials (BOM).
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, AISC/BS/IS standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, fabricators, and site teams.
- Maintain model accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
- Update models based on design revisions and RFIs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in structural steel detailing or BIM modeling.
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication drawings and erection processes.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Tekla Structures (mandatory/preferred).
- Experience with AutoCAD and other detailing software.
- Knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection (preferred).
- Familiarity with international steel standards (AISC / BS / IS codes).
- Understanding of connection detailing and structural concepts.
